Albany Man Indicted For Attempted Murder After August Stabbing

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that VICTOR PAGAN, 34, of Albany, NY, was indicted by the Grand Jury on three counts including; (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “B” Felony,  (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class “D” Felony. PAGAN faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

The indictment alleges that on August 23, 2008 on Elk Street in the City of Albany, a male victim accompanied his brother to the home of VICTOR PAGAN to pick up the children of the brother. An argument ensued between the brother and PAGAN, at which point PAGAN  attempted to cause the death of the victim by stabbing him in the left side three times, breaking one of the victim’s ribs.

PAGAN is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, September 19, 2008.

Major Offense Bureau Chief Bruce Lennard is handling the prosecution of this case.
