Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Clarence Jackson, aka Beano, Sentencing ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that CLARENCE L. JACKSON, 28 of 1076 Baker Avenue, Schenectady , NY will be sentenced tomorrow, September 7 , 2005 by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. JACKSON pled guilty to plead guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree on August 18, 2005. The Indictment alleged that on or about the 24 th day of March, 2005, at approximately 5:30 PM at 21 The Concourse in the Town of Bethlehem, JACKSON had on his person over 500 grams of crack cocaine which he was attempting to sell for $30,000. JACKSON was on federal probation for a conviction in November, 2000 for the distribution of cocaine. DA Soares was pleased with the disposition of the case. “Clarence Jackson is a career criminal and a significant distributor of crack cocaine in the Capital District. I applaud the Sheriff’s Department’s Drug Interdiction Unit for targeting and capturing this guy,” he said. The case was prosecuted by the prosecutors from the Street Crimes Bureau.
