DA’s Domestic Violence Advisory Board Announces DV Month Awareness Initiatives – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that the Domestic Violence Advisory Board, made up of representatives from The Legal Project, Equinox, Albany Law School, the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the Crime and Victims Sexual Violence Center, the Albany County Coalition Against Domestic Abuse and the Office of the Albany County District Attorney, will be hosting events to celebrate October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Father Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Death of Infant – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that GREGORY MILGO, 29, of Albany, NY, plead guilty to (1) count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont. In accordance with the plea bargain, MILGO faces 18 years in prison when sentenced in November.

25 Year Old Receives 2-6 Years for Aggravated Vehicular Assault and DWI after Pinning Two Victims Between Vehicle and Building – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DANIELLE DAMBROSI, 25, of Cohoes, NY, was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. In August, DAMBROSI pled guilty to (1) count of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a Class “C” Felony and (1) count of misdemeanor DWI.

Albany Man Sentenced to Maximum for Beating Puppy – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that LASHAWN CARTER, 30, of Albany, NY, was sentenced to one-year in jail by the Honorable Rachel L Kretser. In August, CARTER was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Animal Cruelty, an Unclassified Misdemeanor.

Albany Man Found Guilty of Armed Robbery and Biting Off Ear Gets 32 Years in Prison and an ‘Earful’ from the Judge – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JERRY CARTER, A.K.A. “Big Man”, 30, of Albany, NY, was sentenced to up to 32 years in prison by the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. On November 26, 2007, at 195 Clinton Avenue in the City of Albany, JERRY CARTER forcibly stole a gold bracelet from a male victim. During the robbery, CARTER displayed a gun, pistol whipped the victim and caused the victim serious physical injury. CARTER bit off a portion of the victims left ear.

Child Rapist Sent to Prison for 11 Years - District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that GERALDO RAGLAND, 19, of Albany, NY, was sentenced to 11 years in prison and 15 years post release supervision by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. Between September 7, 2006 and March 31, 2007, RAGLAND engaged in numerous acts of sexual conduct, including anal intercourse, with a 7-year-old child. RAGLAND would bribe the child to perform these acts by offering rewards such as dolls and candy. RAGLAND also threatened the child with harm if she told anyone.

Albany Man Found Guilty of Assault and Burglary, Faces 25 Years – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that NAKIA ROSE, 24, of Bronx, NY, was found guilty after a jury trial before the Honorable Stephen Herrick. ROSE faces up to 25 years when sentenced in January.

Chinese Restaurant – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that CURTIS BRISSON, 38, of Mechanicsville, NY, was found guilty after a jury trial before the Honorable Stephen Herrick.
