Office of the District Attorney Mechanicsville Man Found Guilty of Robbing ALBANY, NY – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that CURTIS BRISSON, 38, of Mechanicsville, NY, was found guilty after a jury trial before the Honorable Stephen Herrick. On March 15, 2008, New York State Police officers respond to a burglary at Ming’s Wok Restaurant in Kohl’s Plaza on Central Avenue and found that the backdoor had been forced open. Upon entry, officers noticed the cash register had been gone thru and things had been tossed around. Another officer in the area pulled CURTIS BRISSON over and found a crowbar, a cookie tin full of change and two cartons of Chinese cigarettes from the restaurant on the seats of the car. “I would like to thank the jury for their service to Albany County and Assistant District Attorney Jarrod Sanford for his diligent prosecution. Home and business owners should feel at ease knowing that their belongings are safe when they lock their doors and leave. This defendant threatened the security to which every citizen is entitled, and it is very clear that the jury felt the same way by deciding he was guilty in 47 minutes,” commented DA Soares. BRISSON faces 3 ½ to 7 years in prison when sentenced in December. Assistant District Attorney Jarrod Sanford of the Street Crimes Bureau handled the prosecution of this case.
