HOULIHAN ARRAIGNED ON 4 COUNTS

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that SEAN HOULIHAN, 28, of Quail Street , Albany , NY was arraigned for four counts including Robbery in the 2 nd Degree, two counts of Burglary in the 2 nd Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The indictment alleges that on or about September 18, 2005 , at approximately 6:15 PM , HOULIHAN forcibly stole property consisting of United State Currency while displaying a firearm and threatening the immediate use of physical force. HOULIHAN is accused of having kicked in the door of an apartment, displaying a weapon in a threatening manner, and stealing cash from his victim, a kitchen worker at SUNY. The victim’s child was present during the incident.

After HOULIHAN left the apartment, the victim called 911 giving a detailed description. Based on the description, the Police spotted HOULIHAN on the street and detained him. HOULIHAN was arrested after having been positively identified by the victim.

DA Soares applauded the Albany Police Force for their quick reaction and arrest of the subject. “Here was a case where a 911 call resulted in the defendant being arrested within minutes of the crime. It is this kind of fast action that closes cases quickly and helps clean up the community,” he said.

If convicted on all counts, HOULIHAN faces up to 15 years in state prison.
