Office of the District Attorney ALBANY COUNTY HAS HAD OF KEVIN TURNER SUNY Albany Student Pleads Guilty to Gun Possession ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that KEVIN TURNER, 20, a SUNY Albany student from Smyrna, DE, pled guilty to (1) count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class “D” Violent Felony, in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. On September 22, 2008 at 1:16 A.M. in the area of Central Avenue and Everett Road in the City of Albany, a New York State Trooper stopped a vehicle for an illegal u-turn. While speaking to the driver, the Trooper observed a .380 caliber handgun, which was later determined to be loaded with seven live rounds. TURNER faces 2 years in prison and 3 years post release supervision when sentenced in June 2009. Street Crimes Bureau Chief Francisco Calderon handled the prosecution of the case.
