Satterday Pleads to 1 Count of Sexual Abuse

Faces 3 Years in State Prison

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced that GORDON SATTERDAY, 34, of 1638 Helderbergh, Berne, NY pled guilty today to one count of Sexual Abuse in the 1 st Degree before the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick.

He faces a sentence of three years in state prison and two years of post release supervision.

The indictment alleges that on the 23 rd day of September, 2005, SATTERDAY had illegal sexual contact with a child of less than 11 years causing substantial physical pain to said child.

DA Soares noted that this case was resolved in less than two months. “The prosecution of these cases very often causes substantial emotional turmoil to the victim, especially when the victims are children. The speedy prosecution of this case by the Special Victims Bureau ensures that justice has been done, that the victim has been spared any further harm, and that she can now get on with her life,” he said.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 19, 2006.
