Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Melvin McEaddy Convicted At Trial Faces 25 ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that MELVING O. McEADDY, 48, OF 259 South Pearl Street, Albany, NY was found guilty of one count of Robbery in the 1 st Degree after a trial before the Honorable Joseph C. Teresi. McEADDY faces a possible 25 year term in state prison. Sentencing is scheduled for January 5, 2006. The conviction ends a long prosecution. McEADDY was originally arrested for using a weapon to rob the R&A Grocery Store on Central Avenue in Albany on October 9, 2002. He subsequently pled guilty to a charge of Robbery in the 1 st Degree but this conviction was later overturned. DA Soares congratulated his staff for getting the job done. “McEADDY has a 66 page rap sheet. This is the second time we’ve gotten a conviction on him. Hopefully we will see him sent away for a long, long time. By the time he gets out of prison he could be 73 years old and will realize that the time has come for a new approach towards life,” DA Soares said.
