Two Teens Sentenced to 3 Years for Robbery of Elderly Albany Couple

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that STANLEY FELICIANO, 14, of Albany, NY, and RACHELLE LIPSCOMB, 14, of Albany, NY, were sentenced to 1 to 3 years in a juvenile incarceration facility by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. In March, FELICIANO and LIPSCOMB pled guilty to (1) count of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony.

A victim impact statement read in court this morning concluded with, “I am sorry that you have chosen this path. These should be the most wonderful years of your life and I will pray that you realize how much you are throwing away. You should be doing fun things with your friends instead of attacking senior citizens. You need to know that if you had been successful with the robbery, you would have gotten $13.00. Do you think it was worth it?”

“These two defendants chose to take advantage of a vulnerable elderly couple who now live in fear within their own home. I am very pleased they will be spending several years incarcerated to think about how their actions have affected the two victims and their families.” commented DA Soares.

On February 24, 2008 at approximately 9:41 P.M. on McKinley Street in the City of Albany, RACHELLE LIPSCOMB and STANLEY FELICIANO knowingly and unlawfully stole a purse belonging to an elderly victim by punching the victim and the victim’s elderly husband about the head and face causing the victims substantial pain and bruising.

The 16-year-old co-defendant will be sentenced on Wednesday, May 21, 2008.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Harris handled the prosecution of this case.
