Albany Man Gets 17 Years For Rape

ALBANY , NY - District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that EDWARD FIRST, 36, of Myrtle Ave, Albany, NY, was sentenced to 17 years in prison. In February, FIRST pled guilty to (1) count of Rape in the First Degree, a Class “ B ” Felony.

On May 4, 2007, on Eagle Street in the City of Albany, FIRST, while invited into the home, raped the roommate of his girlfriend. The victim was in an alcohol and/or drug intoxicated state and/or asleep, therefore, unable to communicate her unwillingness to engage in the act.

ADA Christina Calabrese handled the prosecution of the case.
