Lee Hall Gets 14 For Burg 2

ALBANY , NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that LEE MARVIN HALL, 42, of 85 Mohawk Street , Cohoes , NY has been sentenced to 14 years in state prison by the Honorable Dan Lamont.

HALL was convicted at trial on February 1, 2006 on charges of Burglary in the 2 nd Degree and Attempted Burglary in the 2 nd Degree. At the trial, the prosecution demonstrated that at approximately 11:18 PM on the 20 th day of April, 2005, HALL broke into a dwelling at 67 Cohoes Road in the Town of Colonie . The People also proved that at approximately 10:32 , that same night, HALL had attempted to break-in to a residence at 104 Cohoes Road . HALL was arrested by Officers of the Colonie Police Department working Officers of the Cohoes Police Department after a citizen complaint following the attempted break-in. Officers responded to the scene and were able to track HALL by using a trained police dog.

DA Soares noted the length of the sentence saying, “Burglary is a crime that carries severe penalties. Mr. HALL is now going to be spending a good portion of his life in prison. I hope this sentence teaches him something just as I hope that others can realize from sentences like this that Burglary is a serious crime with serious consequences.” He also praised the rapid cooperative response of two neighboring police departments. “Alert citizen action combined with the professionalism of law enforcement, backed up by the good work of prosecutor Kathleen Boland all combined to bring Mr. HALL to justice,” Soares said.
