Albany Police Sergeant Arraigned for Pointing Gun at Clerk – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that KEVIN MCKENNA, 43, of Albany , NY was arraigned on a sealed indictment consisting of (1) count of Menacing in the Second Degree, a Class “A” Misdemeanor, by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. MCKENNA pled not guilty.

Teens Indicted for Robbery of Elderly Albany Couple – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that LEESA WALKER, 16, of Albany, NY, was arraigned on (3) counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony, and STANLEY FELICIANO, 14, of Albany, NY and RACHELLE LIPSCOMB, 14, of Albany, NY, were arraigned on (2) counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony, by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. All three pled not guilty. WALKER face up to15 years in prison and LIPSCOMB and FELICIANO face up to 7 years in prison. Bail was set at $35,000 for FELICIANO.

Ravena Man Sentenced to 7 Years for Raping Teen he Met on MySpace– District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that SEAN LENNON, 21 of 119 Main Street, Ravena, NY was sentenced to 7 years in prison and 10 years post release supervision by the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. LENNON must also must to register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.

David Soares today announced that NATHANIEL DAVIS, SR, 38, of Albany, NY was arraigned on (1) count of Grand Larceny in the Second degree, a Class “C” Felony, and (1) count of Grand Larceny in the Third degree, a Class “D” Felony by the Honorable Dan Lamont. David Soares today announced that JOSEPH LANSING, 50, of Colonie, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Attempted Disseminating Indecent Materials to Minors in the First degree, a Class “ E ” Felony in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. Under the terms of the plea bargain, LANSING faces 1 ½ years in prison and ten years post release supervision when sentenced on May 5, 2008. |

Third Doctor in ‘Operation Which Doctor’ Case Pleads Guilty, Agrees to Cooperate Against Remaining Defendants – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that GARY BRANDWEIN, 52, of Florida, pled guilty to Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class “D” Felony , in front of the Honorable Stephen Herrick. BRANDWEIN faces a maximum of one year in state prison. But under the terms of the plea bargain, BRANDWEIN faces up to 2½ years in prison if he fails to cooperate in the case against Signature Pharmacy.

Dozens of Real Estate Professionals Face Felony Charges for State Tax Evasion Totaling More Than $650,000– District Attorney P. David Soares along with New York State Commissioner of Taxation & Finance, Robert L. Megna, announced today that 5 individuals were arraigned for failing to file New York State personal income tax returns, and the remaining 26 will be arraigned on April 4, 2008. The 31 individuals are believed to owe over $650,000 in tax liability.

David Soares today announced that ADAM WRIGHT, 22, of Berne, NY was sentenced to 7 years in prison and 3 years post release supervision by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. In February, WRIGHT was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony, (1) count of Aggravated Assault upon a person less than eleven years old, a Class “E” Felony and (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.

Three ‘Operation Which Doctor’ Defendants Plead Guilty – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that GLEN STEPHANOS, pled guilty to (1) count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a Class “D” Felony before the Honorable Dan Lamont. Under the terms of the plea bargain, GLEN SREPHANOS faces five years probation, must forfeit $350,000, and will testify against remaining defendants. GEORGE STEPHANOS and RYAN DUMAS pled guilty to (1) count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree,a class “A” misdemeanor in exchange for a $1,000 fine and truthful testify against the remaining defendants.
