Adam Wright Sentenced to 7 Years for Child Abuse ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ADAM WRIGHT, 22, of Berne, NY was sentenced to 7 years in prison and 3 years post release supervision by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. In February, WRIGHT was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony, (1) count of Aggravated Assault upon a person less than eleven years old, a Class “E” Felony and (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor. On May 7, 2007, sometime before midnight, at 1638 Helderberg Trail, in the Towne of Berne, WRIGHT intentionally caused physical injury to a three year old child, consisting of a left orbital fracture and or closed fracture of the facial bones Additionally, WRIGHT failed to refuse or exercise reasonable diligence to prevent the victim from becoming an abused or neglected child. WRIGHT was previously convicted of Assault in the Third Degree in Berne Town Court on July 11, 2006. ADA Christina Nolan handled the prosecution of this case.
