Albany Man Sentenced to 12 – Life for Assault ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JESSIE TAYLOR, 38, of Albany, NY was sentenced to 12 years to life in prison as a persistent felon by the Honorable Stephen Herrick. In January, TAYLOR pled guilty to (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony . On August 5, 2007 at approximately 11:40 A.M. in the vicinity of the intersection of Alexander Street and Broad Street in the City of Albany, JESSIE TAYLOR did cause physical injury to a female victim consisting of a stab wound and lacerated liver together with substantial pain and other injuries, which were inflicted by means of a knife.
