Teens Indicted for Robbery of Elderly Albany Couple

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that LEESA WALKER, 16, of Albany, NY, was arraigned on (3) counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony, and STANLEY FELICIANO, 14, of Albany, NY and RACHELLE LIPSCOMB, 14, of Albany, NY, were arraigned on (2) counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony, by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. All three pled not guilty. WALKER face up to15 years in prison and LIPSCOMB and FELICIANO face up to 7 years in prison. Bail was set at $35,000 for FELICIANO.

“Resident of Albany should feel safe on our streets and especially in their neighborhoods and near their homes,” commented DA Soares. “Yet the actions of these defendants highlight the increasing fear permeating our communities. It is my hope that by holding them accountable for their actions, it will help deter other young people from choosing to engage in future acts of senseless violence, especially against our older citizens.”

The indictment alleges on February 24, 2008 at approximately 9:41 P.M. on McKinley Street in the City of Albany, LEESA WALKER, RACHELLE LIPSCOMB and STANLEY FELICIANO knowingly and unlawfully stole a purse belonging to a victim by punching the victim and the victim’s husband about the head and face causing the victim substantial pain and bruising.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Mark Harris is handling the prosecution of this case.
