Albany Man Pleads Guilty After Parole Officer Finds Drugs in Home ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JOSEPH KIRNON, 33, of Albany, NY, pled guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class “C” Felony in front of the Honorable Stephen Herrick. In accordance with the plea bargain, KIRNON faces 6 years in prison and 3 years post release supervision when sentenced in July. On October 29, 2007 at or about 12:00 P.M. at 300 McCarty Avenue, a Parole Officer was conducting a home visit. As part of the home visit, the Officer recovered 11 grams of crack and powder cocaine along with a digital scale. “The New York State Division of Parole is an essential partner in fighting crime, and without our partners in public safety, we would not be able to effectively maintain order and hold criminals accountable for their actions. Parole Officer Hyde should be commended for his diligence and commitment to taking drugs and criminals out of our neighborhoods,” commented DA Soares.
