Reid Receives 25 to Life in Prison for Murder –  District Attorney P. David Soares announced that LAMAR REID, 26, of Albany , NY was sentenced to 25 years to life by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. REID was found guilty of Murder in the 2nd Degree after a trial presided over by the Honorable Thomas Breslin.

McKinney Sentenced to 18 Years For Manslaughter District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that MANNY MCKINNEY, 31 of Fayetteville, NC, was sentenced to 18 years in state prison and 5 years post release supervision before the Honorable Dan Lamont. MCKINNEY plead guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the 1 st degree, a class “B” felony.

Two Plead Guilty in SUNY Rape Case –  District Attorney P. David Soares announced that LORENZO ASHBORNE, 19, of Smyrna, GA and JULIUS HARRIS, 19, of Riviera Beach, FL pled guilty to Rape in the Third Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. In accordance with the plea bargain, they face six months in jail and ten years of probation as a sex offender.

Albany Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder– Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that MURAT GIBSON, 23, of Albany, NY pled guilty to (1) count of Attempted Murder in the 2 nd Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. Under the terms of the plea, GIBSON is expected to be sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years post release supervision.

Allan Teller Receives Sentence for DWI & Hit-and-Run – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ALLAN TELLER, 20, of Colonie, NY was sentenced to 6 months in jail and 5 years probation for (1) count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and (1) count of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin.

Boothby Sentenced for Racially Motivated Crime–  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JASON BOOTHBY, 29, of 953 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY was sentenced to 1½ to 3 years for Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree to serve concurrently with a 1-year sentence for Menacing in the 2nd Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. BOOTHBY plead guilty to both charges on April 13, 2007.

Man Received 3 Years for Violation of Protection Order and Harassment –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ROBERT LAUDER, 27, of Selkirk, NY was sentenced to one to three years in prison for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. LAUDER pled guilty on April 13, 2007.

Pearl Street Robber Sentenced to 12 ½ Years– Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today the sentencing of VICTOR RIVERA, 49, of 1686 Central Avenue, Colonie, NY to 12 ½ years in prison and 5 years post release supervision for (1) count of Robbery in the 1st Degree in front of the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. Rivera pled guilty to the crime on April 24, 2007.
