Dominique Devan Fields Indicted for Attempted Murder

ALBANY, NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the indictment of DOMINIQUE DEVAN FIELDS, 19, of 266 First Street, Albany, NY on ten counts including Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degrees, four counts of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on all counts, FIELDS faces a term of 25 years to life in prison.

The Indictments allege that on or about June 22, 2005, in front of 291 First Street, FIELDS intentionally fired a gun aimed at Office Sean Slingerland of the Albany Police Force after having been advised by Office Slingerland that he was a Police Officer. FIELDS is alleged to have been in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest.

DA Soares noted that the indictment took place less than a week after the arrest. “People arrested carrying weapons in Albany County can expect a swift response from the Street Crimes Bureau,” he said.
