Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Statement of P. David Soares on the Sentencing of Jeffrey Metcalfe.
ALBANY, NY – This morning former Albany Police Officer Jeffrey Metcalfe was sentenced to six months in jail, five years probation, and a fine of $10,000. You will note that this sentence is unchanged from the plea deal which agreed to before Judge Herrick on March 1 st of this year. As you know, the original date of the sentencing was May 3 rd and it was delayed until today. When allegations are made, this office has an obligation to listen. However, this office does not comment on ongoing investigations or even on the existence of an investigation. We do not act solely on the basis of an allegation.
