Bank Robber Will Spend Next Decade in Prison ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DANIEL C. FREELAND, 62, of Baltimore, MD was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 5 years post release supervision by the Honorable Dan Lamont in Albany County Supreme Court. In April, FREELAND pled guilty to (1) count of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony. DANIEL C. FREELAND admitted that on December 18, 2008, at about 3:30 P.M., he f orcibly stole $7,632.00 from the Capital Bank and Trust branch office located at 594 Loudon Road, in the Village of Latham while displaying a revolver. He later fled up the Northway but was captured by New York State troopers following a high speed chase into Saratoga Springs.
