David Soares on Medicaid Abuse ALBANY, NY – “The abuse of the Medicaid System as revealed in recent press reports clearly demonstrates that more resources need to be devoted to fighting white collar crime. As important as it is to combat street crime, drugs, and gangs, it is also vitally important to fight those silent hidden criminals who operate behind the scenes and out of sight. These crimes sap the energy out of our community by reducing the quality of public services while increasing our tax burden. As you know, I have established a Public Integrity Unit for the sole purpose of fighting these silent crimes. However, the unit is small and it is flooded with large complex investigations.
