Car Jacking Arraignment

ALBANY, NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that Shamsideen Robinson, 17, of 253 Colonie Street, Albany, NY had been arraigned in Albany Police Court today on counts of Assault 2 nd and Robbery in the 1 st degree.

The charges stemmed from a carjacking incident that took place last weekend in which ROBINSON is alleged to have opened the door of an SUV stopped at a stop light on Lark Street, stabbed the driver in the stomach, pulled him out of the car and then stolen the car. The car was later wrecked.

An interesting aspect of today’s arraignment was that ROBINSON was already scheduled to be in court today for a conference on an arrest for four counts including Criminal Mischief in the 3 rd Degree, a felony, Assault, Menacing, and Possession of a Weapon, all Misdemeanors. These charges stemmed from a family fight that took place on July 17, 2005 in which ROBINSON is alleged to have menaced his father, assaulted his uncle and then slashed the tires of the family car.
