Albany Man Gets 50 to Life for Raping Child ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced that GARY ALFORD, 49, of Albany, NY was sentenced to 50 years to life by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. On October 31, 2007, a jury found ALFORD guilty of (2) counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class “A-II” Felony, (1) count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony, (1) count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony and (1) count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “D” Felony. Between August 2006 and March 2007 in the City of Albany, over a period of time, not less than three months in duration, ALFORD, being over 18 years old, engaged in at least two acts of sexual conduct including sexual intercourse and/or oral sexual conduct and/or anal sexual conduct with a child less than eleven years old.
