Albany Man Who Pled Guilty to Grand Larceny and Forgery Fails to Show for Sentencing

ALBANY , NY – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ROBERT BOVE, 38, of Albany, NY, failed to show up for sentencing and the Honorable Thomas Breslin has issued a bench warrant for his arrest. In October, BOVE pled guilty to (1) count of  Attempted Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. BOVE faces two and a half to five years in prison for each count.

On or about the 17 th day of March, 2006, during business hours, at the Sunmark Federal Credit Union, located at 1847 Central Avenue, in the Town of Colonie, BOVE attempted to commit the crime of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree when, with intent to steal more than $50,000.00 the defendant did submit a fraudulent mortgage loan application in the amount of $800,000.00 in an attempt to gain monies on properties he does not own. Additionally, on or about the 27 th day of March, 2006, in the County of Albany, BOVE did with knowledge that it was forged and with intent to defraud, deceive or injure Citizen’s Bank and/or Boston Note Company did present a Citizen’s Bank check in the amount of $6,437.00 knowing this check had been altered from $1000.00.

Financial Crimes Bureau Chief Christopher Baynes handled the prosecution of this case.
