Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Robert Coffey Indicted On 2nd Set of Charges ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ROBERT COFFEY, 28, of 33 Church Road, Albany, NY has been indicted on counts of Rape in the 1 st Degree, Kidnapping in the 2 nd degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2 nd degree. He is scheduled for arraignment before the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick on Tuesday, January 17, 2006. The indictment alleges that on or about the 7 th of July, 2005 at Lot 3, 333 Church Road in the Town of Guilderland, COFFEY grabbed his female victim, forced her into his truck, prevented her from leaving his truck and/or trailer, took her to an undisclosed place while she was unconscious and had sexual intercourse with her. This is the second indictment for Rape and other charges for COFFEY in the past week. District Attorney Soares said that COFFEY faces spending much of the rest of his life in state prison. “COFFEY is a dangerous sexual predator and we will attempt to have him incarcerated for as long as possible,” Soares said. If convicted on all counts, COFFEY faces up to 50 years in prison in addition to the 25 years he faces from last week’s indictment.
