Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Indictment of Roosevelt Cobb ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the indictment of ROOSEVELT COBB, 51, of 520 Hamilton Street, Albany, NY on two counts of possession of stolen property, grand larceny, and attempted grand larceny. The Indictment alleges that between the hours of 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM on November 24 th, 2004, the defendant, in the company of an accomplice Athena Striplin, went on a shopping spree using credit cards stolen from a Nun. Smart work on the part of managers and employees of two stores, Boscov’s and Boomer Mc Loud’s coupled with a timely response from the victim and prompt action by the Colonie and Albany Police Departments lead to an arrest of the defendant before he could even leave the store. Soares thanked the all those who contributed to the arrest, especially the security forces from Boscov’s who acted in a prompt, responsible and professional manner. “Law enforcement needs help in the fight against crime. Here we can see what happens when responsible citizens step forward and do the right thing” he said. If convicted, COBB faces up to four years in prison. He is currently incarcerated on a parole violation. His accomplice, STRIPLIN, is currently facing three to six years on an unrelated change.
