Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Sentencing of Tyril Jarvis ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the sentencing of Tyril Jarvis, 22, of 1030 Park Place Apt. D3, Brooklyn NY for Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony. The sentencing took place before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. JARVIS will serve eight to fifteen years in State Prison. Assistant District Attorney David Rossi said that the sentence was fair. “JARVIS fired his weapon five times and one of the bullets ended the life of Glenda Jones who was simply out for a walk.” The victim, known as Pam to her friends, was holding her two year old son at the time of the incident. District Attorney Soares expressed outrage at the thoughtless cruelty of the crime and added, “The lesson here is that gun crimes will not be tolerated. When you fire a weapon in a public space, you are committing a very serious crime and this office will do everything in its power to see that you spend a very long time in jail.” Back to Press Releases For further information contact: Richard Arthur
