Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares District Attorney P. David Soares Announces Three New Appointments
ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced three provisional appointments to the positions created by the Albany County Legislature on December 20 th, 2004. These appointments are: Elaine Frazier to the position of Director of Administration, Richard Arthur to the position of Public Information Specialist, and Amanda Paeglow to the position of Community Prosecution Liaison. Soares stated that the appointment of Elaine Frazier to the position of Director of Administration would fulfill his commitment to bring professional management to the Office of the District Attorney. Key goals of the new office will be to develop and implement an aggressive grants program to bring new innovative resources and programs to the fight against crime, to seek opportunities for cost savings and service improvements, and to supervise the implementation of a modern computerized case management system. Soares also announced the creation of a Community Relations and Public Information program to be staffed by Richard Arthur. He stated, “I believe that it is a fundamental obligation of government to keep the citizenry informed about the activities of their government.” He added that open communications was fundamental to his goal of getting members of the community actively involved in the creation of safer streets and safer communities and that this program would leverage the power of the office by involving the community and supporting efforts to ensure that all the branches of government are coordinated and working together in the fight against crime. Finally, he announced that he was reviving the office of Community-Based Prosecution. This office will be staffed by former Community Prosecution Coordinator, Amanda Paeglow. Ms. Paeglow will return to the work that she was doing when she worked for Assistant District Attorney Soares in the Community Prosecution Office from June of 2003 to June 2004.
