1/28/05 Carlos Thompson Faces Three Years in State Prison – Carlos Thompson, 26, of Spring Valley, NY, was sentenced on one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. Thompson faces three years in state prison. View

1/24/05 Lester Tillman Conviction – Lester Tillman, 41, of Troy, was convicted on four counts including Burglary, Reckless Endangerment, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second and third degrees. View
1/24/05 Sentencing of Justin Terrell Rescheduled – Justin Terrell had agreed to a sentence of 19 years for the beating of his seven week old son. Prior to every sentencing for a felony offence, the Probation Department prepares a pre-sentencing report. In this case, however, Terrell denied that he had intended to harm the child despite having admitted to having done so under oath during the 11/29/04 hearing. View
1/19/05 Sentencing of Almeka R. Cobb for Insurance Fraud Adjourned for One Week – Sentencing was adjourned for one week due to the defendant’s recent arrest related to his possession of a handgun, which appeared to be a violation of his plea agreement. Cobb will face 2 to 4 years. View
1/19/05 Sentencing of Tyril Jarvis – Tyril Jarvis, 22, of Brooklyn, was sentenced to 8 to 15 years in State Prison for Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. View
1/19/05 Sentencing of Kevin Cherry – Kevin Cherry, 25, of Ravena, was convicted after a trial held in December 2004 on ten counts including multiple burglary counts, multiple robbery counts, and three counts of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, Class A-1 Felonies. 1/7/05 Leonard Berl Sentenced – Leonard Berl, 43, of Loudonville, was convicted on several counts related to his fraudulent dentist work. He was ordered to pay restitution and give up his license to practice dentistry. View
