Jovan Underdue Indicted for Murder – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JOVAN UNDERDUE, 31, of Albany, NY, was indicted by the Grand Jury on five counts including: (3) counts of Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class “A-1” Felony, (1) count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class “B” Violent Felony and (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Armed, Violent Felony. UNDERDUE faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Duane Morrison, A.K.A “Big Homie,” Found Guilty of Attempted Murder – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DUANE MORRISON, 21, of 2 Lincoln Sq Apt, Albany, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and (1) count of Escape in the Second Degree before the Honorable Dan Lamont. MORRISON faces up to 25 years in prison for the attempted murder charge and up to 4 years for the escape charge when sentenced on April 11, 2008.

Justin Walker Sentenced to 12 ½ Years for Robbery – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that JUSTIN WALKER, 22, of 71 Westerlo St, Albany, NY was sentenced to 12 ½ years by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. On December 19, 2007, WALKER pled guilty to (1) count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony.

Witness Receives 5 Years for Robbing Pizza and Chinese Food Deliverymen, Failure to Cooperate Lands Half Brother of Duane Morrison, A.K.A. “Big Homie,” in Prison for Longer than Expected – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that VAHDEEM RICKS, 18, of Third Avenue, Albany, NY was sentenced to 2 concurrent sentences of 5 years in prison and 3 years of post-release supervision by the Honorable Thomas Breslin.

Drug Dealer Found Guilty in Absentia Returns To Court – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that IJAL SUDLER, 27, of Brooklyn, NY, was arraigned this morning on a bench warrant arising out of his failure to appear for trial on October 15 th, 2007. The US Marshals apprehended SUDLER outside of Richmond Virginia last month.

Adam Wright Found Guilty of Child Abuse – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that ADAM WRIGHT, 22, of Berne, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony, (1) count of Aggravated Assault upon a person less than eleven years old, a Class “E” Felony and (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class “A” Misdemeanor before the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. WRIGHT faces up to 7 years in prison when sentenced on March 27, 2008.

Two Watervliet Men Indicted for Tampering With a Witness – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that SHAWN ROBERTS, 28, of Watervliet, NY was indicted on (7) counts including: (3) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class “B” Felony, (2) counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Violent Felony, (1) count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Violent Felony and (1) count of Tampering with a Witness in the Third Degree, a Class “E” Felony. ROBERTS faces up to 60 years in prison.

Albany Man Pleads Guilty to Rape, Faces 17 Years - District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that EDWARD FIRST, 36, of Myrtle Ave, Albany, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Rape in the First Degree, a Class “ B ” Felony in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont. FIRST faces 17 years in prison and ten years post release supervision when sentenced on April 18, 2008.
