Sean Houlihan Pleads to Indictment on Home Invasion

Faces up to 15 

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that SEAN HOULIHAN, 28, of Quail Street, Albany, NY pled guilty to four counts including Robbery in the 2 nd Degree, two counts of Burglary in the 2 nd Degree and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor before the Honorable Paul Czajka.

In pleading guilty, HOULIHAN admitted that on or about September 18, 2005 , at approximately 6:15 PM , he forcibly stole property consisting of United State Currency while displaying what appeared to be a firearm and threatening the immediate use of physical force. HOULIHAN also admitted to having kicked in the door of an apartment, displaying this weapon in a threatening manner, and stealing cash from his victim, a kitchen worker at SUNY. The victim’s child was present during the incident.

After HOULIHAN left the apartment, the victim called 911 giving a detailed description. Based on the description, the Police spotted HOULIHAN on the street and detained him. HOULIHAN was arrested after having been positively identified by the victim.

DA Soares noted that HOULIHAN pled guilty to the full indictment, essentially throwing himself to the mercy of the courts rather than face trial.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 28, 2006 at noon .

HOULIHAN faces up to15 years in state prison.
