Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Aunri Douglas and Robert Stokley Plead Guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ANRI DOUGLAS, 16, of 31 Beverly Avenue , Albany , NY pled guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3 rd Degree before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. He faces a sentence of 2 ½ years determinate in state prison with 2 years of Post Release Supervision. DOUGLAS admitted his guilt to the charge of being in possession of a loaded 32 caliber semi -automatic hand gun on November 18, 2005 at about 2:19 PM at 168 Van Rensselaer Boulevard in the Town of Colonie . DOUGLAS was arrested when Officer of the Colonie Police Department, responding to reports of trespassers, found him illegally trespassing and subjected him to a pat down. In a separate incident, ROBERT STOKLEY, 33, of 17 G Lincoln Heights, Schenectady , NY pled guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3 rd Degree before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. He faces a sentence of 5 years in state prison with 3 years of Post Release Supervision. In pleading guilty, STOKLEY admitted to being in constructive possession of a loaded 32 caliber revolver on the 21 st of October, 2005 at about 2:23 AM in the area of 104 Ontario Street , Albany , NY . STOKLEY was arrested after APD Officers stopped his vehicle for a cracked windshield and found no licensed driver in the vehicle. Since there was no licensed driver, the vehicle had to be towed. Prior to towing a vehicle, the vehicle must be inventoried and this inventory search revealed the weapon. District Attorney Soares noted that the STOKLEY conviction is the second of a possible three convictions arising from this arrest. LESTOR WHITEHURST pled guilty on January 4, 2006 and is currently facing 2 years determinate and a third occupant of the car, FREDERICK JAMES still faces a possible 7 years. His trial is scheduled for sometime in March. “These convictions demonstrate the commitment that my Office has in working with local law enforcement to get anyone caught illegally in possession of a weapon off the street and into state prison,” Soares said.
