Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Tiquan Downing Pleads Guilty to Weapons Charge Faces 3 ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that TIQUAN TEDDY DOWNING, 28, of 9 Parkwood Street , Albany , NY pled guilty to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3 rd Degree before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. He faces a sentence of 3 years in state prison with 2 years of Post Release Supervision. In pleading guilty, DOWNING admitted to being in possession of a defaced 380 mm semi automatic pistol on the 4 th day of January, 2006 at the home of his girlfriend. DOWNING was arrested for a parole violation and was found to be in possession of the weapon at the time of his arrest. District Attorney Soares noted that there were only five weeks between the arrest and the guilty plea. “In this case, similar to the case of ROBERT PERRIN, we are demonstrating that gun violations result in swift justice,” DA Soares said. “ Albany will be a safer place with TIQUAN DOWNING behind bars for the next three years,” he added. Sentencing is scheduled for April 14, 2006 .
