Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Hate Crime Indictment of David Teeple ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced the indictment of David Teeple.20, of State Street Albany, NY on Assault in the 3 rd Degree as a Hate Crime and Criminal Mischief in the 4 th Degree also as a Hate Crime, both Class E felonies. The Indictment alleges that on November 1 st, 2004 at approximately 10:05 P.M. in the vicinity of 128 Dove Street in Albany, NY, the defendant threw a glass bottle striking the victim while shouting racial slurs. The indictment further alleges that the defendant intentionally selected his victim because of her race. He continued his attack, throwing an unidentified hard object which struck the victim’s car shattering the tail cover. DA Soares promised that this case would be prosecuted aggressively vowing, “Hate crimes shouldn’t be tolerated anywhere and they will not be tolerated in Albany County.” If convicted, TEEPLE faces up to 4 years in prison.
