Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Colonie Bank Robber Indicted by Grand Jury ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DANIEL C. FREELAND, 62, of Baltimore, MD, was indicted by the Grand Jury on four counts including; (1) count of Robbery in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony, (1) count of Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Felony, (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Felony and (1) count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class “D” Felony. FREELAND faces 25 years in prison if convicted of the charges. The indictment alleges that on December 18, 2008 at 3:30 PM, at the Capital Band and Trust branch office located at 594 Loudon Road in the Village of Latham, FREELAND forcibly stole $7,632 from a customer service representative by displaying what appeared to be a revolver and demanding money from bank employees. FREEMAN is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, December 26, 2008.
