Father Sentenced to 18 Years for Death of Infant Son

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that GREGORY MILGO, 29, of Albany, NY, was sentenced to 18 years in prison and 5 years post release supervision by the Honorable Dan Lamont. In October, MILGO pled guilty to (1) count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony.

Between May 1, 2008 and May 13, 2008, GREGORY MILGO caused the death of his infant son, born approximately three months prematurely, by repeatedly and vigorously shaking the infant, which caused brain hemorrhaging. Additionally, MILGO and SASHA POOLE, the infant’s mother, failed to seek prompt and adequate medical assistance for the infant after infliction of these injuries.

SASHA POOLE, 21, of Albany, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a Class “D” Felony in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont in October. Under the terms of the plea bargain, POOLE will receive five years probation when sentenced next week.

Homicide and Special Victims Bureau Chief Dave Rossi handled the prosecution of this case.
