Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Albany Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that NEPHREN HOLT, 18, of Albany, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Assault in the First Degree, a Class “B” Felony in front of the Honorable Thomas Breslin. On Saturday, October 25, 2008, at approximately 4:00 A.M., at the corner of Madison Avenue and Ontario Street in the City of Albany, Benjamin Clark and another male began arguing over a girl. NEPHREN HOLT became involved in the fight and intentionally stabbed Clark with a pocket knife four times, causing Clark to sustain serious injuries including a punctured heart, lacerated lung, punctured eardrum, a laceration to the face and other injuries which almost lead to his death. Under the terms of the plea bargain, HOLT faces to 12 years in prison and 5 years post release supervision when sentenced on January 26, 2009.
