ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that Philip Friedman, 66, of Hackett Blvd., Albany, NY was sentenced to 6 years Probation for Forcible Touching, and 3 years Probation of endangering the welfare of a child.

DA Soares noted, "PHILIP FRIEDMAN will have now have to register as a sex offender. It is likely, as a sex offender, the ex cantor will never be in a position of trust with children again."

Albany City Court. Judge Will Carter handed down sentence early this afternoon.

ADA Mark Harris, Bureau Chief of the Special Victims Unit prosecuted this case.
