Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares SEAN HALEY, Albany Police Officer Arrested on Insurance Fraud ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced that SEAN HALEY, of 42 Trinity Place, Albany, NY has been arrested and charged with Insurance Fraud in the 5 th Degree. The initial complaint was referred to the Public Integrity Bureau of this Office by the Professionals Standards Office of the Albany Police Department. The misdemeanor complaint alleges that on or about the 29 th day of August, 2005, HALEY knowingly submitted a fraudulent claim for reimbursement for a lost cell phone. DA Soares was saddened by the charge. “As I have said before, this Office will hold all citizens to a common standard of justice regardless of position or reputation. However, it is my belief that Officers of the law have a moral obligation to hold themselves to an even higher standard than the average citizen. In this case a fine career is being ruined by a bad decision. This is a good man who did a foolish thing” he said. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2005.
