Ending the Year in a Flurry of Activity

ALBANY, NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares released the following statement.

“The last 48 hours have seen an extraordinary level of activity in law enforcement in Albany County. In past three days, this Office has indicted and arraigned one rape, two attempted murders, one major drug dealer, and one Albany Police Officer. We have also achieved a guilty verdict on a very difficult rape case involving a young victim. This all happened in the context of the entire Office moving to a new building.

“One year ago, we had a change of administration and I promised the people of Albany County that there would be a seamless transition with no disruption to the awesome responsibility of law enforcement. Thanks to the diligence and hard work of my staff, we fulfilled that promise. Now we are undergoing another transition and once again the people of the Office of the Albany County District Attorney have stepped up and honored their commitment to the citizens of the County.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the fine team that has made this move possible. The movers, project managers, Information Services support staff, and others have all displayed the finest professionalism bringing credit to their managers and to the County.

“Crime doesn’t stop for a change of address, neither do we.”
