Office of the District Attorney P. David Soares Justin Landauer Sentencing ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced that JUSTIN T. LANDAUER, 27, of 417 Beebe Road, Knox, NY was was sentenced today to 2 1/3 to 7 years by the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. LANDAUER pled guilty to one count of on Tuesday, October, 4, 2005. Landauer pled guilty on September 18, 2005 to one count of second degree manslaughter in the drunk driving death of Gary Lehmann. The indictment alleges that on or about June 23 rd, 2005 at approximately 8:10 PM on State Route 443 in the Town of Knox, LANDAUER caused the death one Gary Lehmann. LANDAUER is alleged to have been operating a 1999 F250 Ford Pickup after having consumed a significant amount of alcohol and he was both speeding and driving imprudently. His truck drove across the center lane of the highway and he collided head-on into Mr. Lehmann’s vehicle causing Lehmann’s death. The victim, a scholar visiting from SUNY Binghamton, was traveling to join his wife and three young children for a tenth anniversary party. “This death, like so many others, was as tragic as it was senseless,” said District Attorney Soares. “I would like the public to take give consideration in this holiday season to ensuring that there are safe drivers always available.
