Defendant Indicted For Attempted Murder in Domestic Disturbance – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today the indictment of PETER CAPONE, 40, of Cohoes, NY on (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and (1) count of Assault in the First Degree.

Dare Arraigned for Suspicious Activity – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today the arraignment of AARON DARE of Albany, NY, on (1) count of Forgery in the Second Degree, a Class “D” Felony and (1) count of Offering a False Instrument for Filing, a Class “E” Felony in front of Judge William A. Carter. DARE is being held without bail in Albany County Jail.

Guilty Verdict in Teen Rape Trial – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that MARCUS BROWN, 23, of Albany, NY, was found guilty of (1) count of Rape in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, and (2) counts of Rape in the Third Degree, a Class E Felony, in front of the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. BROWN faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison with 5 years post release supervision for Rape in the First Degree and 2-4 years in prison for each count of Rape in the Third Degree.

Bank Robber Sentenced to 7 Years – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that AHMAD BURKE, 49, of 5 Pine St., Apt 4, Albany NY, was sentenced to 7 years in prison with 5 years post release supervision before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin. BURKE pled guilty in May to (1) count of Robbery in the 2 nd Degree, a Class “C” Felony.

Phillip Morris Henry Guilty of Burglary – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that PHILLIP MORRIS HENRY, 26, of Albany, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (5) counts of Burglary in the Second Degree before the Honorable Stephen Herrick. HENRY faces 75 years in prison.

14-Year-Old Sentenced to 2½ to 7½ for Rape – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that the 14-year-old co-defendant of Rakim Baker, 18, of Albany, NY was sentenced to 2½ to 7½ years in prison. On June 25, 2007, the defendant was found guilty after a bench trial of (1) count of Rape in the 1 st Degree before the Honorable Thomas Breslin. The young man faced a minimum of 1 to 3 years and a maximum of 3 ½ to 10 years in prison.

Third M.D. in ‘Operation Which Doctor’ Pleads Guilty – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ROBERT CARLSON, 50, of Sarasota, FL, pled guilty to (1) Count of Insurance Fraud in the 4th Degree, a Class “E” Felony, before the Honorable Daniel Lamont. CARLSON faces 5 years of probation and will forfeit $300,000.
