Edmunds Receives 3 Years on Drug Charge

ALBANY, NY – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced the sentencing of DONNIE EDMUNDS, 22, of 652 Clinton Ave Albany, NY. EDMUNDS was sentenced in front of the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin after pleading guilty on June 12, 2006 to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, a Class “D” Felony. EDMUNDS will serve 3 years in prison with 1 year post release sentencing.

EDMUNDS was arrested on March 15, 2006 after Albany Police discovered EDMUNDS with 6.9 grams of crack-cocaine in his possession. At or about the time of arrest EDMUNDS claimed that he had left his two babies unattended back at the apartment. Upon entering the apartment, Albany Police found the babies as well as an additional amount of cocaine.

DA Soares noted today, “Mr. EDMUNDS is yet another example of a young man who will be spending time in state prison when he should be attending college.”
