ALBANY, NY – On December 30, 2005, while in Albany Police custody, an elderly man was removed from a police wagon in a manner that this office believes no citizen in custody should have to experience.  We felt that Michael Geraci’s conduct during this transaction and subsequent reporting of this transaction warranted an investigation and more importantly- warranted accountability.  This Office will continue to hold to our mission that Albany County Residents have come to expect:  examine each case brought to our attention with one Standard.
 
The Albany County Grand Jury listened to the testimony and viewed the evidence.  Today, they decided to issue a true no bill on the Felony Count.  This is our process, and we respect the Grand Jury’s decision.   We thank them for their service.
