ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced that RALPHAEL FOLK, 31, of 500 Northern Boulevard, Albany, NY, was convicted last night on five counts including Criminal Sales of a Controlled Substance in the 3 rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3 rd and 4 th Degrees, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2 nd and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after a trial before the Honorable Dan Lamont. The jury found that FOLK sold a quantity of crack cocaine to a confidential information working for the Albany Police Department. The sale took place at approximately 7:51 P.M. on April 5, 2005 at 500 Henry Johnson Boulevard, in the City of Albany, NY. Upon completion of the sale, other members of the Community Response Unit were preparing and obtaining a search warrant for the room in which the sale took place. Meanwhile, FOLK left the room and was apprehended by members of the CRU. At his arrest, he was found to be in possession of the pre-recorded buy money. The Officers then executed the search warrant and found in the room additional quantities of crack cocaine, a digital scale commonly used for the measurement and sale of illegal drugs, and a quantity of marijuana.
