Albany Man Found Guilty After DNA Recovered on Gun– District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that EIRSHAWN DONLEY, 30, of 162 Ida Yarborough, Albany, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class “D” Felony in front of the Honorable Stephen Herrick. DONLEY faces 3½ to 7 years in prison as a second time felony offender when sentenced on May 22, 2008.

Duane Morrison, A.K.A “Big Homie,” Found Guilty of Attempted Murder– District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DUANE MORRISON, 21, of 2 Lincoln Sq Apt, Albany, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and (1) count of Escape in the Second Degree before the Honorable Dan Lamont. MORRISON faces up to 25 years in prison for the attempted murder charge and up to 4 years for the escape charge when sentenced on April 11, 2008.

Dare Pleads Guilty to Real Estate Fraud – Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that AARON DARE of Albany, NY, pled guilty to (1) count of Offering a False Instrument for Filing, a Class “E” Felony in front of the Honorable Dan Lamont. DARE faces 1 to 3 years in prison, to run consecutively with the federal sentence imposed, when sentenced on June 19, 2008.

Brooklyn Man Sentenced to 6 Years For Gun Possession– District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DWAYNE HIGGINS, 30, of Brooklyn, NY, was sentenced to six years in prison and three years post release supervision by the Honorable Stephen W. Herrick. On February 21, 2008, HIGGINS pled guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Daughter Indicted for Death of Mother – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that CAROL ADAMS, 47, of Albany, NY, was indicted by the Grand Jury on a sealed indictment consisting of three counts: (1) count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a Class “C” Felony, (1) count of Criminally Negligent Homicide, a Class “E” Felony and (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Vulnerable Elderly Person in the First Degree, a Class “D” Felony. ADAMS faces 15 years in prison.

Oathout Sentenced to Life for Murder – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that CHRISTOPHER OATHOUT, 25, of Watervliet, NY was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. In December, OATHOUT was found guilty by jury of (1) count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” Felony.
