Duane Morrison, A.K.A “Big Homie,” Found Guilty of Attempted Murder

ALBANY , NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that DUANE MORRISON, 21, of 2 Lincoln Sq Apt, Albany, NY was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and (1) count of Escape in the Second Degree before the Honorable Dan Lamont. MORRISON faces up to 25 years in prison for the attempted murder charge and up to 4 years for the escape charge when sentenced on April 11, 2008.

On June 10 th, 2007, on Third Ave in the City of Albany, DUANE MORRISON intended to cause the death of Deontint Davis by shooting four rounds with a .22 caliber long rifle. These actions did cause Deontint Davis to suffer a gunshot wound to his head and shoulder. The shooting was in retaliation for a fight the night before between Deontint David and a friend of DUANE MORRISON. After being taken into custody, MORRISON escaped from the South Albany Police Station and was later apprehended.

ADA Bruce Lennard handled the prosecution of this case.
