Grand Jury Indicts Raa-Jiem Coleman for Attempted Murder,
Faces 25 Years in Prison

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that RAA-JIEM COLEMAN, 16, of Albany, NY, was indicted by the Grand Jury on eight counts including: (1) count of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, (1) count of Assault in the 1st Degree, (1) count of Attempted Assault in the 1st Degree, (1) count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, (2) counts of Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 1st Degree and (2) counts of Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 2nd Degree. COLEMAN faces 25 years in prison.

The indictment alleges that on April 1, 2007, at about 5:00 a.m. in the area of 52 Benjamin Street in the City of Albany, RAA-JIEM COLEMAN was in possession of a loaded handgun which he used to intentionally shoot the victim, once in the left buttock and once in the left thigh.
