Moore Found Guilty on 3 Counts, Faces 25 Years for Each
1 Counts Rape in the 1st Degree and 2 Counts Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st Degree

ALBANY , NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that VICTOR MOORE, 32, of Waterford, NY, was found guilty of (1) count of Rape in the 1st Degree and (2) counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st Degree after a trial presided over by the Honorable Thomas Breslin. MOORE faces a term in State Prison of 75 years, 25 years for each count.

During the months between November 1998 and January 2001, MOORE engaged in several acts of sexual conduct, which includes at least one act of sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse or aggravated sexual contact with a child who is incapable of consent by reason of being less than (11) years old. Additionally, between November 1998 and January 1999, MOORE did engage in sexual intercourse with another person, to whom he was not married, and that person was incapable of consent by reason of being less than (11) years old.

District Attorney Soares expressed gratitude to the jury for confirming that MOORE is a dangerous sexual predator. “It is our hope that the conclusion of this trial will help restore some semblance of a normal life to this victim and her family. This criminal faces a very long prison sentence and because of an extremely courageous young woman, he is now off our streets and out of our neighborhoods.”

ADA Christina Nolan from the Special Victims Unit handled the prosecution of this case.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 30, 2007.
