Jason Ford Gets 11 - 13 Years

ALBANY, NY –  District Attorney P. David Soares today announced that Jason Ford, 24, of 26 Kent Street, Albany, NY was sentenced to 11 to 13 years in State Prison by the Honorable W. Stephen Herrick for two counts including rape and a drug charge.

The Indictment alleged that during the early morning hours of December 17th, 2004, FORD forcibly raped, sexually abused, and prevented the victim from leaving her apartment and/or seeking assistance by holding her down, biting her, choking her, and threatening her with a knife. The Indictment further alleges that FORD was in the possession of crack cocaine as well as cocaine with the intent to sell.

District Attorney Soares expressed satisfaction with the proposed sentence and issued a warning, “This case demonstrates our commitment to protecting the women of Albany County. If you use your strength to batter and rape a woman, even if you have a prior relationship with that woman, you will be facing a very significant prison term. Don’t think for a moment that having a relationship with a woman offers any protection against the consequences of your actions.”

FORD was sentenced to ten years with five years of post release supervision. He also received a consecutive one to 3 year term for an unrelated drug charge.
